Marcus Hurt

ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m Marcus Hurt and I’m your friendly neighbor that is proud to call Royal Chapel Estates home since 2018. You might recognize me as the guy doing yard work on the corner of Altman & Royal Chapel Drive.  I’m a Texas-born native, originally from San Antonio, and I moved to Dallas in 2017. I’m just a regular person who cares deeply about our community.  I stepped into the role of precinct chair after noticing there was a vacancy and realizing that if I wanted to see positive change in our community, I needed to be part of making it happen.

As precinct chair, my goal is simple: to meet our neighbors, listen, and understand the issues that matter most to the people who live here. I believe that even when we don’t agree on everything, we can find common ground and work together to strengthen our community. My top priorities are making sure everyone who wants to vote is registered, knows when and where to vote, and has access to help if they need it. Encouraging participation and making the process feel accessible is at the heart of what I do.

Outside of this role, I work at UT Southwestern Medical Center where I specialize in clinical informatics. I earned my undergraduate degree in Management from Texas State University and my graduate degree in Health Informatics from UT Southwestern Medical Center. I’ve been married to my husband for six years, and we share our home with our two dogs, Lilikoi and Keiki. In my free time, I enjoy gardening, tackling house projects, traveling, spending time with friends, and giving back. I also volunteer with several nonprofit organizations that support recovery from alcoholism and drug addiction.
